Cherokee Day of Caring
5/20/10 The Cherokee Day of Caring is a community service event jointly sponsored by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and the Office of the Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee. Along with these home repair projects, this event honors ten Quiet Heroes, individuals nominated by their community as a person who consistently and selflessly gives without ever asking for something in return. While we honor and recognize those individuals in our community that give of themselves for the betterment of the Eastern Band, we cannot forget the dedication, hard work and loyalty given to our Tribe by regional, non-enrolled, community members. Each year the Day of Caring recognizes one Good Neighbor, a community member who is not enrolled but nevertheless devotes themselves to helping the Eastern Band. |
