Call 1-800-438-1601 to purchase tickets to the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, home to award-winning exhibits. The Museum is open all year round. Stay tuned as the Museum expands to include more interactive displays.
You can also visit Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual, a cooperative boutique of beautifully hand-made baskets, pottery, dolls and more by Cherokee and Native American artists. All products have a rich story to tell, from the materials used that are native to the Cherokee, to the craft itself which for most was passed down from a long line of artists.
 | Museum of the Cherokee Indian The self-guided tour begins with the "Story Lodge" where ancient Cherokee myths appear through computer animation. You continue through the Paleo period, when mastodons were killed with simple spears. Through the Archaic and Woodland periods, people adapted the environment to their needs, creating agriculture, trade, and villages. The elaborate ceremonial activities of the Misissippian period echo throughout today's traditions. The period of contact brought trade, disease, war, and many cultural changes.

In the heart of the Oconaluftee Indian Village you will work with a Cherokee Artisan to create a beautiful Cherokee pot using centuries old techniques. Limited to 12 per day, Adults only (age 13 +).
