Cherokee Excursions Program
WHEN:
Two Excursion routes are operating from Thursdays - Sundays; last Excursion is operating on August 23, 2009.
HOW MUCH:
DAY EXCURSION (Fridays and Sundays):
$59 per adult / $29 per child (6-12 years old); children 5 years old and under are free.
AFTERNOON EXCURSION (Thursdays and Saturdays):
$69 per adult / $39 per child (6-12 years old); children 5 years old and under are free.

| 8:45am - 9:30am | Board the Cherokee Excursion van from Asheville hotels; departure times: Route 1: 8:45am - 1st stop, 9am - 2nd stop, 9:30am - 3rd stop; Route 2: 9:30am departure at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa |
| 9:30-10:30am | A guide will drive guests to Cherokee where they will receive a colorful laminated lanyard to enter attractions. |
| 10:30-12pm | Self-guided tour of the Museum of the Cherokee Indian and Museum Gift Shop. |
| 12-1pm | Board the van to head to a southern style picnic lunch at the Oconaluftee Indian Village. |
| 1-3:30pm | Board the van to head up the hill to take a self-guided tour of the Oconaluftee Indian Village. Guests will thrill to the "Time of War" demonstration. |
| 3:30-4pm | Board the van to head back down the hill to visit the Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual; ask for your free, personal gallery tour. |
| 4:15-5:45pm | Driver returns guests to hotels after a beautiful 50-mile drive through the mountains; Route 1: 5:15pm - 1st stop, 5:30pm - 2nd stop, 5:45pm - 3rd stop; Route 2: 5:15pm return time at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. |

| 3:00-4:30pm | Take a Self-Guided tour of the Oconaluftee Indian Village. Guests will thrill to the "Time of War" demonstration. |
| 4:45-6:00pm | Board the van to head down the hill for a self-guided tour of the Museum of the Cherokee Indian and Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual; ask for your free, personal gallery tour Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual. |
| 6:15-6:45pm | Board the van to head to a southern style picnic dinner by the Village. |
| 7:00pm | Join us under the stars at the beautiful outdoor Mountainside Theatre for the performance of "Unto These Hills," one of the longest-running outdoor dramas in the U.S. since 1957 with a cast of over 50 trained Cherokee actors. |
| 9:45-11:15pm | Driver returns guests to hotels after a beautiful 50-mile drive through the mountains; Route 1: 10:45pm - 3rd stop, 11:00pm - 2nd stop, 11:15 - 1st stop; Route 2 - 10:45pm return time at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. |
- Boxed lunch: Hoagie sandwhiches with fixings on the side, chips, cookie, piece of fruit and bottled water.
- Boxed dinner: Two choices of meat and veggies (i.e. roast beef/chicken/meatloaf/BBQ), bread, dessert and bottled water.
Vegetarian meals can be requested upon boarding the van; the Excursion drive will take your request.
