Opening Night is Cause for Celebration 60 Times Over!

The world famous outdoor drama “Unto These Hills” has chronicled the history of the Cherokee Indians and entertained more than six million visitors since it first opened in 1950, and this year the drama opens its 60th season on June 5 in the newly renovated Mountainside Theatre.

Cherokee Delegation Recreates 18th-Century Emissaries of Sovereign Nations

On Tuesday, May 12, the Museum of the Cherokee Indian received a replica of a 1700s peace medal from Colonial Williamsburg in Colonial Williamsburg. John Standingdeer Jr. accepted the medal on behalf of the Museum as Cultural Ambassador for the Eastern Band and member of the Warriors of AniKituhwa.
