Fun Packed, Five Day Fete at the 97th Annual Cherokee Indian Fair

Approaching its century mark, the 97th Annual Cherokee Indian Fair features a parade, concerts, contests, carnival rides, shows, delicious food, local artisans, fireworks and much more! The legendary Charlie Daniels Band, American Idol's Bo Bice, singer songwriter Crystal Shawanda, bluesy indigenous and comedian Don Burnstick are among the headlining evening performances.

New Exhibit Debuts at the Museum of the Cherokee Indian

While you're out enjoying the warm fall hues of leaf season in Cherokee, be sure to stop by the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, and for good reason. The Museum of the Cherokee Indian has a new exhibit. A project of the Cherokee Historical Society, Inc. in Tahlequah, Okla., "Generations: Cherokee Language through Art" will be on display through December 2009. The exhibit was previously on display at the Cherokee Heritage Center in Tahlequah.

Big Wheels Roll into Cherokee at the Big Rigs Show

Big rigs and antique trucks rumble into Cherokee October 16–18 for the 4th Annual Big Rigs and Antique Trucks Show, where truck enthusiasts of all types gather to show off their custom and original truck restorations, trade stories and ideas, raise money for breast cancer research and compete for prizes and bragging rights.

Cruise the Smokies Cherokee Car Show Style

Classic car enthusiasts cruise into Cherokee for hot rod bragging rights at the 10th Annual “Cruise the Smokies” Cherokee Fall Rod Run. The competition heats up as Cherokee unveils the new Best in Show trophy, and all registered vehicles are eligible to win cash and prizes. Vehicle registration is $40 at the gate. Entertainment nightly includes Little Anthony and the Imperials at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Hotel on Halloween. The expo area will feature a Swap Meet, new and used parts and bar-b-que, burgers and dogs for the hungry. The event runs each day 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and spectator admission is $10.
